In this new term, <strong>Gabriel Sousa<\/strong>, CEO of Floene, has taken over as President of the organisation, while <strong>Ra\u00fal Su\u00e1rez, CEO of Nedgia<\/strong>, has been appointed <strong>Vice-President<\/strong>.<\/p><p>This appointment strengthens Nedgia\u2019s leading position and presence in the European energy sector and gives the company a prominent role in forums that determine the strategic direction of the sector. GD4S is actively working to highlight the role of <strong>gas distribution networks as a key element in the energy transition<\/strong>, promoting solutions that contribute to a more sustainable, safer and more efficient energy system.<\/p><p>In particular, the association promotes the <strong>integration of renewable gases<\/strong> such as <strong>biomethane<\/strong> into existing infrastructures, as well as a more efficient and optimised use of distribution networks. These initiatives help us progress towards decarbonisation by making use of existing networks, delivering benefits for both consumers and the energy system as a whole.<\/p><p>The new President and Vice-President of GD4S are beginning their mandate at a particularly significant time for the European energy sector, one marked by the challenges associated with <strong>reducing emissions<\/strong>, <strong>supply security<\/strong> and <strong>energy competitiveness<\/strong>. In this context, a coordinated vision of the different energy carriers is essential.<\/p><p>As <strong>Ra\u00fal Su\u00e1rez, Vice-President of GD4S and CEO of Nedgia<\/strong>, pointed out, the energy transition in Europe requires <strong>pragmatic solutions and greater coordination between gas and electricity networks<\/strong>, drawing on the strengths of each to provide effective responses to current challenges.
