Installation check

An authorised technician will come to your home on the date indicated to check the state of the gas installation.

Outcome of the visit

If everything is correct, you will receive a favourable report. If not, we will tell you what to do.
 
 

Types of inspection

In-house check

The periodic inspection of the Individual Receiver Installation (IRI) consists of checking the gas installation inside your home.

The IRI is the gas installation from the customer’s valve, located before your meter, to the gas appliances in your home.

Communal area check

The periodic inspection of the Community Receiver Installation (CRI) consists of checking the gas installation within your community.

The CRI is the gas installation from the supply valve outside the building to the customer’s valve, which is located before your meter.

What is the difference between a boiler check and a gas installation inspection?

Gas installation inspection:
It is mandatory every 5 years, and the owner of the installation must ensure it is carried out within the required timeframe.

It checks the safety of the entire gas installation (pipes, meter, ventilation and appliance combustion), both in the home and in the common areas of the building.

It must be carried out by an authorized technician, either from the gas distributor or a certified installation company.

The cost will be included in the gas bill.

Boiler check:
This is preventive maintenance that ensures the proper functioning and efficiency of the boiler.

It must be performed by an official technical service or an authorized installation company.

It does not replace the gas installation inspection, but complements it.

Can I choose who carries out the periodic gas inspection?

Yes. From the date we send you the notification, you have at least 45 calendar days to contract the inspection with a certified gas installation company.

This company must inform us of the result and the cost will be included in your next bill. If you do not contract the inspection within this period, we will contact you to carry it out with us.

Do I have to pay the person who carries out the inspection?

No. The gas supplier will charge the inspection cost on your next bill, regardless of whether it was done by us or by an authorized installation company. You can check our rates at this link.

Important: No technician is authorized to collect payment at your home. If someone asks you to pay in cash, be suspicious and report it to our customer service or to the relevant authorities.

How can I reschedule my appointment?

Contact our customer service by calling 900 100 252, available Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 22:00 (except national holidays), to schedule a new appointment.

What happens if I don’t have the inspection done?

If we are unable to verify that your installation is safe and functioning properly because we couldn’t reach you or schedule a visit, we will have to inform the competent authority of your autonomous community, as required by current legislation.

This may result in the suspension of your home’s gas supply. You must contact our customer service by calling 900 100 252, available Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 22:00 (except national holidays), to schedule a new appointment.

My gas supply was cut off for not completing the periodic inspection, what should I do?

If your gas supply has been interrupted because you did not carry out the mandatory periodic inspection, you must contact our customer service by calling 900 100 252, available Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 22:00 (except national holidays), to schedule a new appointment.
