Biomethane Connect Europe: driving Europe’s green gas future
Biomethane Connect Europe brought together institutional representatives, companies and experts from the energy sector in Madrid to reflect on the role of biomethane, the renewable gas that is already transforming the European energy model.
Nedgia drives digitalisation and biomethane to move towards smarter, more sustainable cities
The Universitat Politècnica de València recently held the conference "Utilities in the city: flexibility, costs and security”, a meeting with administrations, companies and specialists to analyse the energy challenges of the cities of the future and the role of infrastructures in more efficient and resilient urban environments.
The distribution network and green gas: keys to future energy independence
At a time when geopolitical instability and volatile energy markets are raising doubts among citizens, it is more important than ever to have reliable information and a long-term view. For this reason, our CEO, Raúl Suárez, recently took part in RNE's Fin de Mes programme to analyse how the international context is affecting energy supply and what role the gas system plays in Spain.
Gas networks, key to a secure and sustainable energy transition
Business daily Cinco Días has published an opinion article by Raúl Suárez, CEO of Nedgia, in which he analyses the strategic role of gas distribution networks in the current context of energy transition. He highlights how these infrastructures enable us to move towards a more sustainable energy model without sacrificing security of supply, efficiency or competitiveness.
Biomethane: a reality in the energy transition
Biomethane is a renewable gas produced by treating different types of organic waste. Injecting it into the distribution network means that this green gas can be used for exactly the same purposes as conventional natural gas, offering a sustainable alternative that is fully compatible with current infrastructures.
Naturgy and CycleØ launch the first virtual gas pipeline in Spain to increase renewable gas production potential
This innovative solution will be capable of injecting 70 GWh of biomethane into the network produced at different points external to the infrastructure, facilitating the technical and economic viability of new developments.
Naturgy speeds up renewable gas penetration in households along with Hercesa | hi! Real Estate
The two groups sign a partnership to facilitate the supply of biomethane in homes and promote the decarbonisation of residential consumption.
Naturgy connects the BioVO biomethane plant in Granollers to its gas distribution network
The facility, driven by the Consorci per a la Gestió dels Residus del Vallès Oriental and the Consorci Besòs Tordera, produces biomethane from the management of 55,000 tonnes of organic waste and the treatment of 12 million m3 of wastewater per year.
The first large-scale biomethane production plant in Spain, using waste from a controlled waste repository, will prevent the emission of 17,000 tonnes of CO₂ a year
The facility, located in the PreZero Spain Controlled Waste Repository in Els Hostalets de Pierola, was inaugurated today by Regional Minister for Climate Action, Food and the Rural Agenda, David Mascort, along with authorities and business representatives.
Habitat Inmobiliaria and Naturgy join forces to bring renewable gas to homes
The developer will facilitate the use of biomethane as an energy source in its property developments thanks to an agreement with Nedgia, the Naturgy group gas distributor.
The Biomethane Initiatives plant in Noez (Toledo) to inject 40 GWh of renewable gas into the Naturgy network
The facility in Noez (Toledo) will have the capacity to manage 100,000 tonnes of waste a year for the production of biomethane and organic fertiliser products.
The plant will inject a quantity of gas equivalent to the consumption of 6,500 households, and will prevent 7,280 tonnes of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere per year.
AEDAS Homes and Naturgy join forces for the first time to promote the use of renewable gas in housing developments in Spain
The property developer has signed an agreement with Nedgia, the Naturgy group gas distribution subsidiary, to install adapted systems to supply biomethane to around 500 homes under development.
