Nedgia has participated in a new edition of the Grid Ready Forum, held in Brussels and organised by the European Biogas Association, a leading meeting at European level that brings together regulators, network operators and energy sector representatives to promote the integration of green gas in gas infrastructures.
Joan Plana represented Nedgia at the event, reinforcing the company’s presence in this European forum after participating in the previous edition. A key space for sharing knowledge, analysing technical and regulatory challenges, and contributing to the development of solutions that facilitate the injection of biomethane into distribution networks.
Key issues such as the harmonisation of gas quality standards, network access, infrastructure planning and the reduction of connection costs were discussed during the meeting, as well as the development of innovative solutions like virtual pipelines. Initiatives aimed at moving towards a more integrated and efficient European energy system.
The forum brought together more than 60 European experts who agreed on the need to accelerate the implementation of the Gas Package and to towards more homogeneous regulatory frameworks that facilitate the incorporation of renewable gases into existing networks. Conclusions highlighted include the importance of removing technical and regulatory barriers and strengthening coordination between countries to exploit the potential of biomethane as a key energy carrier.
Nedgia’s participation in this type of meeting reinforces its commitment to the development of green gas and to active collaboration in the European dialogue spaces that are shaping the future of the energy system.
